The developers wanted a track for the early demo. The drum and bass theme for the music had not been decided at that point.

This was a really good brief - The designer wanted several loops that could be played together or as separate work individually, the developer then set the loops to trigger at different times during game play. This enabled a seamless flow between the different stages of the game.
